Sunday: Bloody Sunday...

So, I'm feeling le icky today. Which in itself is strange: I only drank half the bottle of wine I bought, and it was a small bottle. Of white, even, which rarely makes me feel ill.

I bailed on D&D today too... When Larkin called, I'm pretty sure I'd only been asleep for an hour or two... Even though I know I was home by 3am, and I'm pretty sure she called before 10am... In any case, I need the extra time, so it really worked out for the best.

I spent the entire week putting off the Soc. assignment, thinking "oh, I'll just do it on Sunday, since it's due on Monday."

It wasn't until I looked at my calender when I got home last night that I realized that I don't have Soc. on Mondays... I have it on Tuesdays.

I have a test on Monday.

Ah, well... It's not so bad. The test on Monday is Eval. Info, which hits pretty high on the "holy crap, I'm going to die of boredom" scale. Actually, I've started entertaining myself in that class by challenging the prof when she say something like "Gender is simply defined: you're either male or female". THAT was a fun class. :) And the best part is that she seems to enjoy it! It gets people thinking, and that's what she wants.

Then on Wednesday, I have an assignment due for Placement which is becoming more and more daunting as the days go by: my resume. I have one completed, the one that I've been using for a while. I could just throw on some new information and call it a day, but then I realized that the formatting on the thing is horrendous. That, and as of right now, the only paid job I've ever had that's relevant to the field was the NUSU job. Damn it all!

But that's ok... I'm going to switch things up, and really put the focus on my volunteer experience (oh, I forgot to mention, but this is supposed to be a resume geared to the field of human services). It will still be 2 pages long (longer, if I include everything, which I probably won't), it will still look good, it will just be very different than what I'm used to.

So, as far as I remember, those are the big 3 for the week: the test, the resume and the assignment. Not too shabby, actually.

Now, on to minor matters... Liquor/Vagina night was absolutely awesome! I haven't had that much fun in a long time. There was dancing, there was Eve Ensler, and there was kereoke! Chante is one of the most outgoing, generally awesome people I've ever met... Except that she thinks I'm a lesbian. Yeah, aparently, she took us seriously when Colleen and I said we were "lovers"... Oh, well. I made it very clear to her how straight I am (the "who needs a man" discussion...), and all is right with the world.

Man I need a vacation... I've really started to miss South Carolina in the last few weeks. I'd just love to get away...

So anyways, I'm off... I actually have a lot to do today... Laundry, dishes... I should probably clean the washroom, because I haven't done that in a while. The paper will be priority today, and I should try to read some more Bradshaw tonight before bed.

If anything, it'll put me to sleep. :)

Post 200!

Wow. I didn't even realize it until I sat down tonight, but this marks my 200th epic misadventure post. wierd.

I might get into more detail on that tomorrow, but I just played 6 hours of D&D Arcainis, and my brain hurts.

Tomorrow I'll be getting up in time to do some readings, maybe go for coffee with Vanessa, then maybe going to Sarah and Larkins for more Firefly. Mmmm... Hot Guys in Westerns set in Space...

Not much else to say right now. Maybe I'm just overlooking things because I'm whipped. But for now, to bed. Tomorrow I'll post about 200 posts, and about other stuff.

BTW, it's looking like the comments portion of my blog isn't working right now. I'm not sure why, but I'll look into it when I get a chance. My inbox is always open for comments: sparkyinthesnow (at) gmail (dot) com. I'll let you know when the issue gets sorted out.

Marathon Arcaina!

We played 8 solid hours of D&D Arcaina today, and it was awsome! My character was such a jerk... Hee hee hee... I can't wait until there's a bigger group, though. More people to play with!

Tomorrow will be interesting. Lots of waiting in line, so I'm probably going to take a book with me... not sure which yet, but I'm sure I'll find something in Mike's vast library to keep me entertained.

Tomorrow night, I will be visiting Sarah and helping her unpack during the comercials of the season premiere of House, which looks like it's going to rock! This makes me very happy.

And I've decided on my next work of fiction, just for fun...

A Heather/other Lacey slash fic, revolving around CSI: North Bay. It shall be glorious.

I'm soooooo going to get smacked for that. :)

Sleep? What?

I'm sooo tired.

Nathan and I had an "episode" last night. It wasn't fun, but it was needed, and I think we both felt a lot better after sorting out the whole concept of "personal time". After some apologuising, snuggling and Ultimate Fighter with Mike, we went to bed because I was exhausted. Then the real fun started.

I haven't had nightmares like that in a long time. Several times, I woke up scared, breathing hard and soaked in cold sweat, which sucked because my room's getting pretty chilly at night. Aparently, I would talk in my sleep (which I didn't do until he and I started dating...), and say strange things, and when I woke up, I'd say stranger things. He said that there were times when it seemed like I was going to panic, so he would stroke my hair and hold me until I calmed down... he was up until 3am. And now, even though I have work to do, I really just want to sleep. I don't know if it's because of the nightmares, or being at work, or something else, but I'm freezing, I'm damned tired, and my throat hurts...

Yeah, I'm going to keep taking those antibiotics, because the last thing I need is a relapse of Bronchitus, or another bout of Mono...

So, my chores for this weekend are:

1. Romance Seminar Report: 2 pages explaining what we talked about in seminar, what I learned, what was discussed in class... basically making sure I did the work and payed attention.

2. Start my director's notebook, because that bugger's going to be HUGE

3. Nano. I"m at just over 7K, I should be at 10K by the end of the weekend to be on-track.

Nathan and I have agreed that this week is my buckle-down week, for real this time. Just to get to where I need to be. And that works out great for me. Tuesday, I get done for the day at 3.30pm, which means I have from 4-?? to do as much work as I can. And Friday, I'm working until 2, but I want to think about starting some Christmas shopping, so I think Nathan and I might go shopping friday night when he gets done work, even if it's just wandering the mall for a few hours. With any luck, I'll get paid on Friday. Yay!

I think the best, most positive thing that came out of today was from Nathan: He's going to make me a knife! Ok, I know that that sounds strange, but it gives him something to do while I'm working. That way, I don't feel guilty about not being with him, and he has something constructive to do other than work. He even thought about making a few to sell on eBay: his "If I win millions in the lottery and could do anything I want" job is making and selling swords, and this is a nice place to start. Besides, he picked up Magic the Gathering for me, now I want to get into something that intrests him. Though I don't like the fighting aspect of knives, a well-crafted blade does appeal to me, not only asthetically, but because it would give me something tangeable to base D&D weapons on... Ok, I'm a geek. Sue me!

...Well, don't really, I'm broke...for now...

Ok, work, nano, sleep.

Go!
