You're so going to laugh...

First of all, my laptop has been back at Staples for repairs. The new cable started melting too, so obviously it's a problem with my cooling system too. I'm calling to see what the damage is today...

In other, happier, crazier news...

Linda came to me yesterday and told me about All Heart Pet Rescue in Powassan. They were over capacity 2 weeks ago, and had 2 litters of kittens dropped off, so they're desperate for Foster Homes for some cats. I looked into it, and made the decision to take 2 for a month.

Then I spoke to the owner this morning. She told me she had a bigger priority on her hands: one of the litters was a mom and 4 kittens, but they are so young (all of them), and so fragile that one of the kittens died last week. She can't bring them into the house because she has no room for them, and she's worried that they're all going to get sick.

So, on Sunday, I'm picking up the mom and her 3 remaining kittens. I'm Fostering them for 3 weeks until they are strong enough to go back to the sheler.

I know what you're all thinking, and no, I'm not going to keep them. I just want them to be safe until they're strong enough to go to good homes. They're adoption screening process is very strict, so I don't have to worry about them going to bad homes, and once they're gone, if things work out, I will probably take on 2 more. The point of Fostering is to give the cats a break from the shelter and the stress, and to see how they interact in the home.

I"m very excited! Adam's agreed to go with me on Sunday to get them. Kathy at the shelter has agreed to provide a cage and the necessities (litter and what not).

But...There are more kittens who need homes too...

Karl and Mal, Mike, Ducky, I'm looking at you guys! I know Mal wants kitties, and I know you do too, Ducky... And Mike, I know there are older cats there too that would make great playmates for Willow...I'll even pick them up for you! What about you, Vanessa? Or Jess? Add another to your broods? Mom, I'd even bring one down for you over Thanksgiving!

So, you know...Just saying...No pressure... ;)

I want to help 150000 of them.
... But Aimee's dog would eat them and it would be bad. So I'm glad you are helping at least!

Loves the kitties!

You are such a wonderful person for taking care of those cats - I'd help you out if I were still up there!

Thank you for your message on my blog, it means a lot.

Yay for school starting for you and getting back into a familiar routine. And I hope all those kitties find places. I'd take one, but... I'm allergic, and I don't think they would want to go to NEw Zealand.
