Epic Resolutions

Following this post is a post that covers pretty much the entire mess that was my holidays. It's stress-tastic and emotionally crippling. Yay. So, once you're done reading my resolutions, read that post, and all of this will make sense.

1) Get Healthy I: Body
Basically, over the last few months, I've lost touch with any form of healthy lifestyle I could have been adopting. As noted, I stopped stretching, I eat mainly deep fried or fast food, and I've packed on the Freshman 15-30lbs 4 years late. Before I came up to North Bay, I fit into my jeans. Now I look like a sausage, my bum and legs look like rice pudding, and I'm actually experiancing pain in my back when I stay standing for too long. Guess I need to get out more.

2) Get Healthy II: Mind
This one's going to be a toughie. I don't quite know what to do yet. I'm sure I'll figure something out eventually.

3) The Half Hour Challenge
Mom taught me over the holidays about the "Half hour challenge". Take a task you really don't want to do, like cleaning, writing a paper, whatever, set a timer, and force yourself to do it for that half hour. Usually if you do that, you can get enough done that you just think: "screw it, I'll keep going till I'm done".

4) Do things that make me feel good.
That's a big one. I LOVE doing charity work, and there's much to be done. I know I will be helping Ducky with her NSIAD project, and I'm hoping to get in on the Vagina Monologues this year... Plus, I NEED to get my First Aid and CPR certifications, so that will be something to work towards too.

5) Save!!
I need monies. I have no monies. Mike will be happy to hear that I should soon have rent, but other than that, it's going to be hand-to-mouth for a while, especially if I need to start eating healthier. So, I'm setting up another account, or a small locked box, into which I can deposit $20 when I have it to spare. That way, I might have money for indulgences like concert tickets, movies, and trips like Ash and Josh are taking.

That's right, my sister gave her boyfriend a trip for the two of them to BC for a week. they leave January 19th, and she used her SCHOLARSHIP money to pay for it. Which is fine, I guess, but she has to pay that back in order to get that scholarship again if she goes to Western next year (which she might not... she's been really dragging her feet on doing that application...)

I hate that I buy necessities only (like new work pants, which were on sale, and I can wear pretty much anywhere), shop only when sales are on, work and go to school, and feel guilty for spending so much, while Ash buys new shirts, goes to Crabby Joe's 3x per week, buys designer jeans and gets them hemmed, gets drunk every weekend, works only part time (and spends the rest of her time at home complaining about work and saying that she should be paid more), and spends mostly MOM's money doing it, and doesn't seem to care. Though, that might change, since she's now paying $300/month for rent ($150 every 2 weeks). THAT, I am thrilled with. Finally, we're on a bit more even ground. Now, if only she'd learn that she has to put gas into the car too... Oh well.

Ok, I'm going to keep packing. I'll be returning to the North tomorrow, anxious as I may be, so I'll see some of you then!

*starts the clock*
