WWKIP!

WW...what?

WWKIP is World Wide Knit In Public Day! It's a day when knitters around the world celebrate and show off their craft by knitting in public... at an event, in a park, on transit, at a park, on a boat, at the beach, in a house, with a mouse... wherever you like!

Actually, that's how it started... it's not really a day anymore. It's a WEEK. That's why it's not called WWKIPD, and I'm sure WWKIPW looks kind of awkward. The point is, it's good knitting stuff!

This year, WWKIP is being celebrated between June 11 and June 19!

Now, as far as I know, there's nothing really planned to celebrate WWKIP here in Toronto (I've seen one event advertised in Whitby, but the next nearest on the website are in Guelph and Waterloo!) So... Toronto Knitters, wanna get together and knit somewhere? Like, a park or something? I think it would be cool... kind of like a flash mob, but with knitting instead of dancing!

Non-Toronto Knitters... are you celebrating WWKIP? Where? How? With Who?

Tell me your knitterly plans!
